The 150,000 sq. ft. addition will more than double the existing 92,000 sq. ft. building and allow space for 11 flexible laboratory spaces and other important upgrades and amenities. Laboratory spaces will be designed for multi-disciplinary teams to work together on topical areas of research. The Kurt and Gina Conti Family Foundation gave towards the construction of one of these labs in support of the importance of continued and advanced sustainability research. The goal of these new labs is to promote inter-disciplinary research, getting professors in different departments to come together and collaborate.

The Kurt and Gina Conti Family Foundation is pleased to announce The Conti Family Sustainable Energy and Advanced Materials Research Lab at Villanova University. The lab will house five principal investigators working from two departments of Villanova, electrical/chemical engineering and biomedical engineering. Various projects will include research on battery storage and advancing the efficiency of solar materials, capturing carbon dioxide and using it to produce sustainable hydrogen, and using chemicals from renewable sources and combining them with catalysts to lower energy consumption, just to name a few.

As Â鶹´«Ă˝ grows and expands our involvement in the sustainability and renewable energy industry, it is important to actively support the efforts of researchers in that field. We are proud to contribute to this campaign and look forward to the amazing ideas and innovations that are born from these labs.

Conti’s five projects were recognized for their nature and the benefits they bring to society, including disaster protection and energy savings, and the efficient teamwork between the client, stakeholders and all project team members.

With this year’s new wins, Conti has won a total of 25 ENR Best Project awards since 2003 for its work on unique and essential projects. Each year, ENR publishes the Top 400 Contractors List, which ranks participating contractors across the United States by their revenue earnings from the previous year, and highlights industry leaders in individual market segments.

Continuing its upward trend in revenue, Conti moved 19 places closer to the top of the Top 400 list this year. The company also ranked among the Top 50 Contractors Working Abroad list, due to its sustained project successes overseas, moving up seven places from its position in 2015. Lastly, Conti again appeared on the Top 20 Hazardous Waste Contractors list, an industry in which the company has been rooted for over 35 years.

Conti participated for the third year as a sponsor of the annual Amy’s Run/Ride/Walk event, held on May 20, 2017. In the first 2 years, this event has netted more than $55,000 in support for pancreatic cancer research at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Brody Labs in New Jersey. This year’s event included over 450 participants and raised an additional $45,000. Amy’s Run/Ride/Walk was founded by Conti employee, Dave Cygan, and his 9 siblings after their sister Amy passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2014. “Our mission is to support progressive pancreatic cancer cure initiatives, and we very grateful for the generous support we’ve received from Conti and its employees.”

On May 21, 2017 Conti continued the weekend participating in the local Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. “Our employees are passionate about helping others,” said Dave Olcott, Conti’s Safety Director, who led the event for the team. “Dressed in pink hard hats and Conti safety vests, our team was among hundreds of participating runners and walkers who all were racing for a cure!”
